Resident Chef, Andy is working on a series of simple recipes costing less than £1 per portion. This is the first and we hope you enjoy it. NOTE: Our Chilli Jam will give your Chilli a gentle heat. If you want to make it hotter, try adding our NEW Habanero HOT Chilli Sauce as well.

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a heavy pan and add the diced onion.
  2. Fry until soft and add the minced beef. Cook on high for about 5 minutes until it starts to brown and then add the tomato puree and chilli powder. Season with salt & pepper.
  3. Add the red kidney beans, baked beans and chopped tomatoes.
  4. Mix well and then half fill one of the empty chopped tomato tins with water and add to the chilli.
  5. Bring to the simmer and add the gravy powder. Stir well.
  6. Simmer for 15-20 minutes and stir in the Chilli Jam and fresh coriander.
  7. Serve immediately with rice, sour cream and grated cheese.
