Technical Compliance Officer

Based in Rendlesham, Woodbridge.

Stokes Sauces manufacture a range of award-winning quality Sauces, Mayonnaises, Condiments and Preserves.  We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Compliance Officer to join a growing business providing a range of support within the technical department.

Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager you will be responsible for the safety, legality, integrity, and quality of the product range from a compliance perspective.

Specific Duties:

  • Management of the Supplier and Raw Material Risk Assessment and Approval process.
  • Primary point of contact for customer specification activity.
  • Responsible for the generation and maintenance of Item Master Data and Bill of Materials within the SAP system.
  • Primary contact for the management of supply chain vulnerability and food defence, ensuring that risk assessments are completed at the required frequency.
  • Responsible for the ongoing management of product labelling.
  • Assist with maintaining the Quality Management System.
  • Perform a key role in the completion of internal audits

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and experience:-

  • Experience of working within a Food Manufacturing environment in a similar role.
  • Able to demonstrate proven experience in compliance management.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and legislative compliance.
  • A good communicator with a professional telephone manner.
  • Well organised and responds well to working within a busy environment.
  • Team player who is enthusiastic and has a can-do attitude.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.

Working Days and Hours – Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5pm

Salary and Benefits:  Salary £30K circa along with 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, contributory pension, life insurance, your Birthday off as an additional day’s holiday, staff discount.

Management Accountant

Stokes Sauces manufacture a unique range of award-winning Sauces, Mayonnaises, Condiments and Preserves from our Saucery in Rendlesham, in rural Suffolk.

We have an exciting, and new opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified Management Accountant to join our growing business.

Reporting to the Commercial Director your responsibilities will include:

The Role:

  • Taking ownership of the preparation of profit & loss reports and general ledger management.
  • Preparing month end accounts, prepayments, and payroll journals.
  • Providing commercial and management information on all aspects of the business, with analysis, highlighting key areas for cost savings, productivity enhancements and improvements.
  • Managing control accounts and open items.
  • Preparing cash flows, balance sheets, profit projection and year end accounts.
  • Maintaining effective and rigorous controls over all processes.

The Candidate:

  • Fully or partly qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing industry experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Possess strong IT skills including an advanced working knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills with a clear understanding of the importance of deadlines.

Domestic & Office Cleaner

Stokes Sauces are looking to recruit a cleaner who will be responsible for cleaning the offices, a private domestic house, and a holiday let property.

Duties & responsibilities for the offices include:

  • To dust and vacuum offices, empty bins, clean sinks, wipe down walls and doors and clean windows as required.
  • To clean the canteen & kitchen including empty bins, wipe down work surfaces, walls and doors, clean sink and windows as required, mop floors and check the towel dispensers.
  • To clean the toilets including empty bins, wash basins, wipe down walls and doors, mop floors and check towel dispensers.
  • To follow company hygiene procedures.
  • To maintain supplies of cleaning materials.

 

Duties & responsibilities for the private domestic home include:

  • Dusting, vacuuming, ironing, washing floors and other general light cleaning.

 

Duties & responsibilities for the holiday let property include: –

  • Dusting, vacuuming, washing floors, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen and cleaning windows as required.
  • Changing and re-making of beds.

 

The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and have excellent attention to detail.  It is essential that you are a lover of dogs, are a non-smoker and have your own transport.

Hours of Work – Could be 2 x part-time or 1 full-time job

Rate of Pay – £11 per hour

Hours, Pay and Benefits

  • Completing size changeovers and product cleans on the equipment.
  • Conducting Quality control checks and completing paperwork records.
  • Operating a clean as you go approach.
  • Ensuring you comply with all standards, procedures, and practices.

Required Experience & Behaviours

  • Previous experience as a machine operator or line setter or similar in an FMCG environment.
  • Team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Literate and numerate to a standard that allows accurate record keeping.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Hours, Pay & Benefits

  • Working Hours37.5 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern of 5.45am – 2.00pm and 1.45pm – 10pm. (potential for night shift 10pm – 6am).
  • Starting rate of Pay is £9.67 rising to £10.20 per hour when trained, 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and a day’s holiday for your Birthday, Company Pension and Life Insurance.

  • Manually pick materials for production and put away material returns from the factory.
  • Conduct stock counts and record results.
  • Operate a clean as you go approach.
  • Ensure you comply with all standards, procedures, and practices.

Required Experience & Behaviours

  • Counter Ballance FLT trained essential Flexi or Bendy FLT trained would be an advantage.
  • Team player with ‘can do attitude’.
  • Good levels of literacy, numeracy, and data entry IT skills.
  • Enjoy a warehouse role which involves an even mix of both inside and outside work.

We make all our of sauces at our ‘saucery’ on the Rendlesham Estate the heart of rural Suffolk. We now have a team of over 70, and In fact, some of us have been making sauce together for almost 20 years! There really has never been a more exciting team to join the ambitious Stokes team, with brand new factory equipment, enabling is to double our capacity, exciting new upcoming product launches and we are actively working in more sectors than ever before!
