Living with Stokes

Visitors, staff, friends and family can’t help but notice the amazing menagerie of rescued and rehomed animals. Pigs, sheep, rabbits, peacocks, hens, geese, rheas, emus, wallabies, cattle, ponies, donkeys and goats all happily share their peaceful new lives.Where’s Wallaby?

You can read more about our close relationship with the environment – HERE.

It is impossible not to smile as you arrive here to be heralded by a chorus of rare breed sheep, cattle and peacocks. Hens and chicks of all colours, shape and size scurry about the place.Curious goats run to the fence so see what’s going on, free from all worries, though rather confused by the antics of their rare breed forklift neighbours. We got the key of the door.

We celebrated 21 years of Stokensian joy this year.

We are very proud of our British heritage, in turn supporting British producers wherever we can. Everything we make, is made right here in Suffolk, and equally proud of the responsibility we take for our role in matters environmental.Seasonal Sensations.

Local produce varies with the seasons. We try to encourage our amazing food lovers to enjoy local produce as the seasons deliver them.

British Asparagus reflects Britain at its very best. We only talk about it in that very short season from mid-May through June.

Why compromise – we don’t.The Bear Hunt.

Come the ‘darling buds of May’ the Holiday Season begins and planning away days starts in earnest.

Keeping the car entertained on a long journey is every driver’s nightmare, whatever the age of the occupants.

Batteries fail and music tastes clash – then the kids clash too.

So, to help, we introduced a couple of traditional – old school – games that everyone can join in. Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry anyone? HERE.BBQ Bonanza.

We love our BBQs, even if all too often, the weather doesn’t. Some like ’em hot; some like them a little more sophisticated, cool; some enjoy a bit of both so, we’re quick to share and enjoy many delicious ideas for BBQs and Al Fresco dining.

Marinade, dress, grill, cook, enjoy.A to Z of Breakfasts.

Travel and culture go hand-in-hand with our universal love of food, so it’s never much of a surprise that we look to other countries and continents for delicious inspiration.

A to Z as in Avocado to Zhaliang. North, South and East to West, was a colourful whirlwind tour of breakfast habits across the globe, enjoying the culture, flavour, stimulation. Wonderful ways to start the day … wherever in the world you are.Recipe Revival.

Food, taste, recipes, tips. Whilst even as unashamed foodies, life is bigger than food, but great tasting food is the focus of our world in The Food Lovers Club.

We share so many tasty, seasonal treats throughout the year. ‘Recipe Revival’ was an absolute foodie focus on the many tastes of Summer.

Amaze yourselves with a Mazemen supper, and lunch with saucy chilli beans. Tickle the taste buds and wash it down with a perfectly paired glass or two of wine.

Wine, food, smiles, joy – uncompromisingly Stokes.

Happy Christmas

We hope you’ve been enjoying your Food Lovers Newsletters throughout the year.

We certainly love sharing new ideas and rummaging through the archives to put a fresh slant on an old favourite.

Sharing is one of the joys of food, from simple snacking to superlative suppers.

If you have nothing to share, or perhaps nobody to share with, then, simply share a smile. It’s both free, and priceless at the same time.

My last thought is simply one of gratitude to you and to everyone who make our uncompromising efforts to create Stokes Sauces so worthwhile.

Thank you and Happy Christmas.

Be safe

Rick.
