No-fish Fish 'n' Chips

Try tofu with a twist for the perfect Vegan alternative to fish & chips. Press slices of tofu and cut them into triangles. Now, spread one side with miso paste and cover with a piece of nori seaweed.

Make a batter with flour, salt and soya milk. Dip the tofu into the batter mix and fry them until golden brown.

Tasty Tip: This is delicious served with Minted Peas – boil and mash Petit Pois with our sweet garden-mint Mint Sauce stirred into it. And lift the whole dish elegantly with our tangy, aromatic Mustard & Dill Sauce.

Beetroot Potato Cakes

Resident Chef, Andy, has created this Vegan recipe which you’ll find by clicking the button below.

He uses our Beetroot Relish IN the potato mixture as well as ON the potato cakes as a delicious garnish.

It is an earthy relish, with crispy refreshing shards of beetroot steeped in a deliciously syrupy red wine sauce.

Tasting Notes: 2020 Great Taste Awards Judges said of our Beetroot Relish: ‘A deep natural beetroot pink, gorgeously glossy and packed full of thoughtfully and carefully prepared beetroot. Firm shreds hold up well with a commendable bite that delivers the unique earthy-sweet flavours of a freshly dug beetroot.’

See our other Relishes & ChutneysHERE – where it is clearly stated which are suitable for Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten or Dairy intolerance needs.

Vegan Burger

Even the most avid carnivores will drool hungrily over the simple flavours in this Vegan Burger.

It stars a plump Portobello Mushroom, seasoned and drizzled with olive oil before roasting on a medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes.

Complete the burgers with crispy salad, crunchy gherkins and a good dollop of Stokes Chilli Jam inside your favourite burger buns.

Tasty Tip: As an alternative to our Chilli Jam (or added to it) transform your burgers stylishly with our unique Burger Relish – rich, slightly sweet tasting red pepper, tomato and onion salsa with a subtle note of chilli.

Chilli Tofu Stir Fry

Andy’s Vegan Sweet Chilli Tofu Stir Fry makes a truly tasty midweek meal in just 15 minutes. He uses Tofoo Co. Naked Tofu, but your own favourite brand will do very well.

Adding Sweet Chilli Sauce to the finishing stages of the frying gives the dish the vitality of the Orient, with red chilli and pepper.

Tasting Notes: 2021 Great Taste Awards Judges said of our Sweet Chilli Sauce: ‘Overall, the balance of heat and sweetness was excellent, with no scorching aftertaste, so we kept reaching for more. A well-judged chilli sauce with wide application.’

Vegan Brownies

All of our Jams & Marmalades are approved by the Vegan Society. Packed full of fruit, they taste amazing too.

Because we use whole free-range eggs to make our Lemon Curd, it is Vegetarian approved but not Vegan.

Andy uses our fruity Raspberry Extra Jam in his ‘oh so delicious‘ Vegan Chocolate & Raspberry Jam Recipe.
